Collins Residential has always been deeply entrenched in the North Coast of KZN. It’s why the creation of developments like Zululami, Seaton and Lalela aims to celebrate this iconic part of our nation alongside everything it has to offer young families. Over several decades and through some incredible infrastructure, the North Coast has fast become the first choice for many families looking to embrace the best in weather, education, entertainment and so much more. We chatted to a few members of the Collins Residential family and here’s why they believe more and more families are headed north…
Pat Lambie – Collins Residential Team
“First and foremost, the various estates offer peace of mind thanks to security. The likes of Seaton, Zululami and Lalela also offer an array of facilities to enjoy like walking trails, tennis courts, jungle gyms & playgrounds, swimming pools, and more – all within a safe environment. Then, there are our beaches that are beautiful and clean providing free entertainment. The North Coast is bursting with lovely shops and restaurants, so there’s no need to look anywhere else.
In the local area, you’ll find places ideal for family outings such as Burndale, the Animal Farm, Sugar Rush, and the Ballito Farmer’s Market. In addition, there’s also an ever-growing trend for concerts and events (eg. Ndlovu Youth Choir & Jeremy Loops at The Manor House, Ballito Pro Surfing), which add to the list of experiences a family can enjoy close to home.
Another important aspect for families is that of education. On the North Coast, we have a strong selection of schools, pre-primary and junior schools so parents don’t need to look far for stellar school options.”
Tyler Smith – Seaton and Zululami
“A desirable and incomparable lifestyle is a huge reason why families are making the move to the North Coast. This is especially true for younger families that value security and peace of mind alongside an array of impressive on-site facilities offered by the likes of Seaton & Zululami Luxury Coastal Estate, which are renowned on the North Coast.
I’ve helped a number of younger families find their dream homes and certainly, one thing that resonated with them was the overall modern and minimalistic feel of both Estates. These offer the epitome of coastal living and provide incredible variety for every member thanks to reciprocal access between homeowners in both estates.”
Melanie Clarkson – Collins Residential Team
“Living is easy! Everything, from shops to schools or banks, can be reached within a short drive. And when you get there, you don’t have to haggle for parking or cross multiple intersections or robots either – you will be surprised how much this impacts you – just to have a simpler life!
Entertainment is free! From the beach to walks and the greater outdoors, there are so many spaces to hang as a family. It feels like a community, small enough to feel close-knit and caring, but large enough to still feel exciting. It’s lovely to see the community pull together when something needs to be done or to rally against a cause – there is invested interest here – and it shows!
I also think that the ability to work, in a professional environment, within a bustling economy and run a successful business appeals to many as the North Coast, although laid back, is not the “bucket-and-spade town” it used to be. Things are happening here!
The fact that kids of all ages, especially teens and young adults, love it here too makes it a great ecosystem for all ages. As a result, you don’t necessarily lose a large age gap to people moving away. In fact, they mostly all return after their studies or time aboard because there is nothing like home on the North Coast.”
